These Terms and Conditions of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of LexCor AI. By accessing or using LexCor AI, you agree to comply with these Terms.
LexCor AI is not intended as a general-purpose application for members of the public. It is primarily a restricted professional service for authorised users associated with subscribing organisations.
Authorised users may include:
Downloading the mobile application does not itself create a right to use LexCor AI. Access requires a valid account authorised by LEXCOR AI LTD or a subscribing organisation.
Where your access has been provided by a law firm or other subscribing organisation:
Where these Terms conflict with a written commercial agreement between LEXCOR AI LTD and the subscribing organisation, that agreement takes priority in relation to the commercial relationship between those parties.
Subject to these Terms and your continuing authorisation, LEXCOR AI LTD grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use LexCor AI for authorised professional purposes.
This licence does not transfer ownership of the software, application, platform, source code, database architecture, workflows, designs, documentation, AI functionality, intellectual property or other proprietary LexCor AI technology. Your right to use the service ends when your authorisation ends.
You must use only the account assigned to you, provide accurate account information, keep your authentication credentials confidential, not allow another person to use your account, use multi-factor authentication where required, maintain reasonable security over devices used to access LexCor AI, promptly report suspected account compromise and comply with the security requirements of your organisation.
You must not deliberately disable, evade or interfere with LexCor AI security controls. LEXCOR AI LTD may suspend access where we reasonably consider that an account has been compromised, an account is being misused, unauthorised access may have occurred, use presents a security risk, the user is no longer authorised or continued access may place confidential information at risk.
LexCor AI uses role-based and matter-level permissions. Your access may depend upon your organisation, professional role, assigned matters, case responsibilities, user permissions and administrator configuration. You must access only information for which you are authorised. You must not attempt to bypass permission controls or access another organisation's or user's information without authority.
Subject to your permissions, LexCor AI may be used for authorised professional activities including:
You must not:
LexCor AI is an operational and technology platform. LEXCOR AI LTD is not acting as your solicitor, your barrister, your legal adviser, a court, a regulator, a prosecutor or a law-enforcement authority. Nothing generated, displayed or communicated by LexCor AI constitutes legal advice from LEXCOR AI LTD.
The relevant legal professional and subscribing organisation remain responsible for legal advice, legal analysis, case strategy, client instructions, pleas, representations, court documents, court submissions, disclosure decisions, professional conduct, procedural compliance, compliance with court orders, compliance with filing requirements and decisions made in relation to a criminal matter. LexCor AI assists professional users. It does not replace professional judgement.
LexCor AI may provide AI-assisted functions including document summarisation, case summarisation, information extraction, correspondence drafting, rewriting, document triage, disclosure support, information organisation, prioritisation and identification of potentially relevant material.
AI-generated output can contain errors, omissions, incorrect summaries, incorrect inferences, incomplete information or information requiring further professional interpretation. You must therefore review AI-generated output before relying upon, approving, sending, filing or otherwise using it.
AI functionality does not independently determine guilt or innocence, whether an offence has been committed, the appropriate plea, legal strategy, sentencing, whether evidence should be accepted, what advice should be given to a client or any other substantive legal outcome. Professional authority remains with the authorised user. Where LexCor AI provides an approval mechanism, approving content means that the authorised user has taken responsibility for reviewing and authorising that content for the intended purpose.
AI-assisted summaries and extracted information are intended to reduce administrative burden and assist prioritisation. They are not a substitute for professional review of source documents where such review is required. A user must not assume that every relevant fact has been extracted, every contradiction has been identified, every piece of evidence has been correctly interpreted, an AI-generated summary is complete or the absence of an AI alert means that no legal or procedural issue exists.
LexCor AI provides workflow, deadline, reminder and escalation functionality intended to improve operational control and reduce the risk of missed actions. Functions may include task generation, hearing reminders, bail reminders, deadline warnings, Custody Time Limit warnings, overdue-task alerts, automated escalation, officer-chase workflows, case-status alerts and other configured procedural controls.
These functions are supplementary professional controls. The relevant user and subscribing organisation remain responsible for verifying legally significant information and complying with applicable deadlines.
Users must independently verify legally significant dates where professional practice requires verification. This includes court hearings, Custody Time Limits, bail dates, filing dates, directions, trial dates, appeal deadlines, statutory deadlines and other procedural dates. No professional user should rely exclusively on a software notification where a legal or professional obligation requires independent diary control.
LexCor AI may send mobile push notifications, in-app alerts, email notifications, SMS notifications or other authorised alerts. Notification delivery may be affected by factors outside the reasonable control of LEXCOR AI LTD, including network availability, device settings, mobile operating-system restrictions, push-notification permissions, email-provider delays, telecommunications providers, device power-saving settings or third-party infrastructure. Users remain responsible for maintaining appropriate professional diary and supervisory systems.
Criminal case information may be confidential, legally privileged, commercially sensitive, subject to court restrictions, subject to statutory restrictions or otherwise sensitive. You must handle such information in accordance with your professional obligations, your organisation's policies, applicable law, applicable court orders and any restrictions applicable to the relevant matter. You must not disclose confidential information merely because LexCor AI technically allows information to be viewed or exported.
You must only upload, access, amend, download or disclose material where you are authorised to do so. LEXCOR AI LTD does not obtain ownership of a subscribing organisation's criminal case documents merely because those documents are stored or processed through LexCor AI. Rights in client and matter content remain with the relevant owner or rights holder.
The LexCor AI mobile application operates as a companion to the core LexCor AI platform. Its principal purpose is to help authorised users remain aware of case developments while away from their desktop environment. Depending on permissions and configuration, mobile functionality may include assigned matter visibility, matter summaries, custody status, case-stage information, hearings, deadlines, Custody Time Limit warnings, tasks, notification acknowledgement, matter activity, disclosure notifications and risk indicators. Certain substantive functions may remain restricted to the main web platform.
If you use LexCor AI on a mobile device, you must take reasonable steps to secure that device. Where available, this should include device passcode protection, biometric protection, automatic screen locking, current operating-system security updates and appropriate control of lock-screen notifications. You should not access sensitive criminal case information from a device that you know to be materially compromised. If a device containing an active LexCor AI session is lost or stolen, you should promptly notify your subscribing organisation. Where appropriate, you should also contact info@lexcorai.com.
The primary LexCor AI platform and case-management infrastructure are hosted using Amazon Web Services ("AWS") in the Europe (London) Region, eu-west-2, United Kingdom. LEXCOR AI LTD uses AWS infrastructure to support the secure provision of the LexCor AI platform. The service may use associated cloud technologies for hosting, databases, document storage, backup, resilience, security, application processing and related platform functionality.
LexCor AI uses Google Firebase for selected mobile application and supporting technical services. Depending upon the functionality configured within a particular version of the application, Firebase may support push notifications, application security, authentication-related services, application configuration, technical diagnostics, crash reporting, performance monitoring and related mobile functionality. Firebase services may operate using Google's global infrastructure and are not all restricted to processing within the United Kingdom. Use of personal information through these services is addressed in the LexCor AI Privacy Notice.
Use of LexCor AI may be recorded in system audit logs. Audit records may include user identity, login date and time, matter accessed, documents accessed, actions performed, information amended, task activity, approvals, correspondence, downloads, AI-assisted activity and relevant security events. Users of organisational LexCor AI accounts should not expect activity within the professional platform to be anonymous from their subscribing organisation.
Personal information is handled in accordance with the LexCor AI Privacy Notice, available at https://lexcorai.com/privacy. Your subscribing law firm or organisation may have a separate privacy notice governing how it uses client and matter information.
LEXCOR AI LTD owns or has the right to use the intellectual property associated with LexCor AI. Protected material may include software, code, architecture, workflows, databases, algorithms, platform designs, user interfaces, graphics, documentation, text, trademarks, branding, AI integration methods and proprietary system functionality. Except for the limited right to access and use the service under these Terms, no intellectual property right is transferred to you.
Where you voluntarily provide suggestions or feedback concerning LexCor AI, LEXCOR AI LTD may use that feedback to improve the platform. This does not grant LEXCOR AI LTD ownership of your organisation's confidential case information or client documents. You must not include confidential client information in product feedback unless appropriately authorised.
We aim to provide a reliable professional service, but no cloud-based application can be guaranteed to operate without interruption. Access may occasionally be affected by planned maintenance, emergency maintenance, software deployment, infrastructure problems, security incidents, telecommunications failures, third-party platform failures, network outages or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Separate availability or service-level commitments may be set out in the subscribing organisation's commercial agreement with LEXCOR AI LTD.
LEXCOR AI LTD may update LexCor AI to improve functionality, correct defects, improve security, respond to regulatory changes, maintain compatibility, improve performance, introduce new functionality or remove functionality that has become obsolete or unsafe. Material contractual changes affecting a subscribing organisation remain subject to the applicable commercial agreement.
LexCor AI relies upon third-party infrastructure and technology providers. These may include Amazon Web Services, Google Firebase, communications providers, authentication providers, notification providers, email providers, SMS providers and other approved technology providers. Third-party services may occasionally become unavailable for reasons outside LEXCOR AI LTD's reasonable control. Where third-party services process personal information, such processing is addressed in the LexCor AI Privacy Notice and applicable contractual arrangements.
Where the LexCor AI mobile application is downloaded through Apple's App Store, your use of the App Store and installation of the application are also subject to applicable Apple terms. Apple does not provide the LexCor AI criminal case-management service and is not responsible for legal or professional decisions made through LexCor AI. To the extent required by the rules applicable to distribution through Apple's App Store, Apple's applicable end-user licence terms may also apply.
Where the LexCor AI application is downloaded through Google Play, your use of Google Play is also subject to Google's applicable terms. Google does not provide the LexCor AI criminal case-management service and is not responsible for legal or professional decisions made by users of LexCor AI.
LEXCOR AI LTD may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary because the subscribing organisation requests it, the user is no longer authorised, an account may have been compromised, continued access presents a security risk, there has been a material breach of these Terms, use appears unlawful, information belonging to another organisation may be at risk or suspension is reasonably necessary to protect LexCor AI, its customers or individuals whose information is held within the platform. Where appropriate, access may be restored once the relevant issue has been resolved.
An individual user's access may end when their organisation terminates access, their employment or engagement ends, their role changes, the subscribing organisation's agreement ends, the account is closed, these Terms are materially breached or LEXCOR AI LTD is otherwise entitled to terminate access. Users may request account closure through their organisation or by contacting info@lexcorai.com. Closing an individual account does not automatically delete the subscribing organisation's underlying matter information or audit records.
LEXCOR AI LTD is not responsible for the accuracy of information entered into the system by users or provided to LexCor AI by a subscribing organisation. Users are responsible for checking information where accuracy is professionally or legally significant. If incorrect information is identified, an authorised user should correct it using the functionality provided or notify an appropriate administrator.
The principal commercial allocation of liability between LEXCOR AI LTD and a subscribing organisation is governed by the applicable service agreement between those parties. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LEXCOR AI LTD will not be responsible to an individual professional user for loss caused solely by failure to review AI-generated output, reliance upon incorrect user-entered information, use of the platform without appropriate professional review, failure to verify a legally significant deadline, unauthorised disclosure by the user, use of an insecure or compromised device, sharing of authentication credentials, failure to respond to an alert, use of LexCor AI outside its intended purpose or independent professional decisions made by the user.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where such exclusion or restriction would be unlawful. Nothing excludes liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Nothing within LexCor AI alters or removes a professional user's duties under applicable law, court rules, court orders, professional conduct requirements, regulatory obligations, contractual obligations, duties of confidentiality or duties owed to clients. A software workflow, alert or AI output cannot override a professional or legal obligation.
Termination of access does not remove continuing obligations concerning confidentiality, intellectual property, data protection, misuse of information or information obtained while the user was authorised to access LexCor AI.
LEXCOR AI LTD may update these Terms where reasonably necessary because of changes to the service, legal developments, regulatory requirements, security requirements, infrastructure changes, application-store requirements or technical developments. The latest version will be published at https://lexcorai.com/terms. Where appropriate, material changes may also be communicated through the platform or to subscribing organisations.
If a provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
Failure by LEXCOR AI LTD to enforce a provision of these Terms on one occasion does not constitute a waiver of that provision or of the right to enforce it subsequently.
Unless a written agreement between LEXCOR AI LTD and the subscribing organisation provides otherwise, these Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Subject to any mandatory legal rights that apply, the courts of England and Wales shall have jurisdiction.
